You crossed my path at 15,
young, naive and ready for something
new and different and with
feeling that I missed so dearly.
You walked into my history class
with your laid back
I don’t care attitude
and slouched down into
your seat to match
the idea that everyone had
of this person that you
wanted everyone to see…
to believe.
I saw right through you,
like the pane of glass that you are.
I saw right through your facade
and looked right into you
and for whatever reason
I liked what I saw.
You crossed my path
like the moon crosses the
path of sun in an eclipse
except your were
my moon
blocking the light
that blinded me
from seeing this person
I didn’t know could be.
My sights were set on you,
for a reason I still…
cannot comprehend because
my mind just runs in circles
around you.
You crept into my thoughts
from day one,
inching your way through the miles of steel
that protected my darkest
of secrets that I didn’t
even know.
You dug so far into me,
that your reached my bones,
and baby,
they still shake for you,
when you reach down and touch
the skin that always belonged
to you,
even before it did.
But….
I don’t care why I want you,
just that I do,
Like the desert longs for
the sweet taste of rain
against it’s sandy soils,
just like the earth seeks
new life under the warmth
of the spring sun.
I saw you and my eyes were…
closed to anyone else.
I’d never felt the urge to
grab someones hand
I knew not the want
to taste anyone’s skin,
but when at 15
You crossed my path
I felt those walls fall away
I felt the ice melt off of
my tired heart…
My skin itched for your touch,
and my lips so desperately wanted yours,
and I fell
into this crazy little thing,
called love.
